Update from Deb Marino (2/23/04)

Preparations are underway for a celebration and recognition of the fine work of our altar servers to take place March 28 at Holiday Lanes.  All current altar servers are invited to make reservations for this event by calling the church office.

RCIA team, sponsors and participants will celebrate the Rite of Election with the bishop today, February 28, with Bishop Schmitt in Wheeling.  This recognition allows participants, the candidates for baptism and the elect who will receive first communion and confirmation to proceed with the final steps for joining the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil April     .

Preparations are underway for our Children’s Liturgy during 11:00 Sunday masses. Elementary school children are invited to participate. Teens, pre-teens and adults may volunteer to assist by contacting Deb or Chris in the church office.  Our thanks to the many adults who have volunteered to lead this program by being in charge of the children’s worship service a few times a year or helping to coordinate materials.

Parents may schedule for the 9:30 am or 7:00 pm session of baptism preparation and update their census cards by calling Deb or Chris in the church office.

We continue to host Robert Corzine of Steubenville’s St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.  Each week is better than the last! Please join us!

Please pray for our women’s Day of Recollection which will be held on Palm Sunday.  Women of our area won’t want to miss this speaker.

Plans are underway for a men’s retreat by the St. Joseph Covenant Keepers.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 6 at 7:00 pm, and do your family, friends and neighbors by inviting them to hear Dr. Scott Hahn, the internationally known speaker and author.  People travel by “train, plane and automobile”  to listen to his wit and wisdom, and we are blessed to be able to book him for Holy Week.
