There is also an Introductory Session scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul in Wheeling. Reservations are necessary for all of these.

This is free to St. Paul's parishioners. There is a $10.00 fee for all others. There is also a $25.00 materials fee for those who sign up for the program that must be paid at the Intro. Session. If there is someone in financial need a payment schedule can be arranged.

WHAT IS NaProTECHNOLOGY®?

NaProTECHNOLOGY® is the new reproductive health science developed by Dr. Thomas Hilgers at Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska which allows a woman to monitor and maintain her own procreative and gynecological health. NaProTECHNOLOGY® is unique to the Creighton System and works cooperatively with the natural procreative system to treat women’s health issues. Collaborative agreements have been made between the FERTILITYCARE™ CENTER of the UPPER OHIO VALLEY and area physicians (Medical Consultants) who have been trained by Dr. Hilgers in order to provide this service.

WHO RUNS THE FERTILITYCARE™ CENTER?

The FERTILITYCARE™ CENTER of the UPPER OHIO VALLEY is based at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Weirton and serves the Northern Panhandle and beyond. It is run by Kathy Hirkala, BSN, FCP. Kathy has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. To become a FertilityCare™ Practitioner Kathy completed a 13 month program of instruction and supervision. She is a member of the American Academy of FertilityCare™ Professionals.

Programs coming in 2004 through

the FertilityCare™ Center of the Upper Ohio Valley:

MOTHER / DAUGHTER (9-12 YEAR OLDS)

The first Mother / Daughter Program is scheduled for Sunday, April 18 at 1:00 in St. Paul's School Cafeteria.

This program, for girls age 9-12 and their mothers, is designed to teach the emotional and physical changes of puberty from a God centered perspective. There will be a small fee to cover materials and reservations are necessary. A minimum of 10 mother/daughter couples is required for the class.

FATHER / SON (10-12 YEAR OLDS)

The purpose of these programs is to explain the physical and emotional changes of puberty from a God centered perspective and to establish a foundation for continued communication between the parent / guardian and child.

OUR POWER TO LOVE (13-17 YEAR OLDS)

The purpose of this program is to promote understanding, respect, and reverence for our gift of sexuality and fertility and to enhance communication in families. It is based on a strong spiritual foundation; the theology of the body.

MARRIED SEXUALITY (For Engaged or Married Couples)

The purpose of this program is to enhance your sexuality (the true S.P.I.C.E. in married life). Couples learn that sexuality is Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Communicative and Emotional in its dimension. They can discover the “inner soul” of their sexuality.
